I've been up to my eyeballs in React and I feel like I am being made to work harder than I would have to in other frameworks and moreover the only reason all of this is so popular is that because massive incomes are tied to it. I don't respect this.

React was a response to, if you can believe it, an even worse way of organizing your frontend code. The problem is that the issues that it solves for aren't really experienced by individuals but rather larger frontend codebases and because react is by Facebook that is what it targets. I see so we are all using tech meant for a massive code base handling the most amount of users possibly any single app has ever handled. Love this for us 🥲 ♥️

Nothing stopping you from using Svelte or Angular or just JavaScript TBH. You have the freedom to choose and aren't locked in

I tried replacing React with Preact for fc auth and frames-type hook-ey things. the type issues got so gnarly so quick, I knew nobody at a non-SAAS startup would ever address it. easier to replace Next with Remix (automod) or Hono (frog) than to replace React with Svelte (blockhead) ime Farchiver was preact. Everything else I've built on Farcaster building blocks has been React. ymmv dyor nfa
