The reason I wanted to go my own way was because I felt like I knew exactly what I needed. Then I started to run into the exact problems that tailwind solves. It's really best to bite the bullet and learn a bit. Common problems I found were layout, coloring and text/font decoration, sizing.

Additionally, when you start using tailwind, you have to give up the default styling that applies to components like headings and anchor tags. Get used to just adding these classes or building components around those classes. It really is worth it
