sometimes forget i'm wearing airpods while working and keep them in for a few hours without any music or audio playing not hard to imagine how a few generations of products from now we'll have a device in our ears for most of the day (if not all the time)

Thanks, Rob. That's the point. The design of AirPods was to create something so seamless you forget it’s even there. Just wait for the next iterations; they’ll be even more integrated into your life.

I'm also getting myself caught wearing those for a long period of time during the day. It's not very hygienic for ears, however.
