optimism rpgf has made is clear that when $$ is involved, defination of public goods could be changed just to fulfill your bias.

Years of research and literature clearly defines what public goods are.

I agree with you but the way economists strictly define public goods, does not consider externalities.

Public goods are defined through their lack of two distinct types of externalities

- rivalry
- excludability

They are NOT defined by exclusion of other externalities e.g.

- being beneficial to society
- being more morally good than morally bad
- being inclusive and/or universally accessible

love this take. agree that the definition in a way could be dynamic, considering the context in each specific case.

One challenge we've found is the definition, because of the name "public goods", doesn't consider scale.  If its a public good for 2 people, is it still a public good?  How much of the public must it benefit?

Non rivalrous, non excludable goods that benefit the commons in the community. Although this is still grey..

For me public goods is when everything you want to do for your comfort and developing are in the town, so nothing does not irritate you and everything is in its place ✨
