i often feel once i broke free from a traditional work schedule, i could wander for weeks just reading, learning, etc and then all of a sudden a huge idea would come what seemed to be out of nowhere, that then could compound to something much larger

That’s how my creativity works. Years ago I left my photography degree a year and a half through a two year course because the rigid structure was killing my creativity. I couldn’t work like that so I left and was much better for it.
