Picked up a couple of new books at the bookstore today. Plan to read both through the lens of how AI will impact my work/world. Which should I read first?

The thesis definitely appealed to me and I have been more distracted lately - not necessarily by screens more by the fact that there is a whole lot happening in the world.  Can’t ignore it but need to get better at shutting it off sometimes. Which of his other books did you like?

In a world we we're all getting dragged into the shallows (a la. omnipresent screens and notifications) THE critical differentiator is being able to slow down and go deep.

I loved this thesis! 🫠

Excellent book, & excellent (to my mind) author/thinker (Cal Newport) in his adjacent books also.

Glad to know it’s that good. I feel like this is a good time for a framework to help get to a new level since in theory AI should shift some of the disruptive noise in the day. And deep work will be a way to stay relevant and stand out.

Adam Grant is great tho I don’t know that book. 
Deep work was no joke life changing for me at a certain point when I needed it as a framework to get to the next level.

Was thinking: thinking differently is kind of a requirement now with all the leaps in AI and if AI will take on more disruptive small things then Deep Focus work should be a even more of a priority. Both were impulse purchases  scanning the shelves while waiting on my daughter at the bookstore. Also...Adam Grant.
