It seems you can find most of the details on https://evilsocket.net/2024/09/26/Attacking-UNIX-systems-via-CUPS-Part-I/ regarding this issue if you want to learn more about it.

Good security measures such as a well configured firewall and regular updates should help. Update your system now if you don't have automatic updates or it's been a while since you did.

Stakers are often unwilling system administrators. I'm one of them. I want to stake not administer my systems. It's still part of the job. In any case, you should know there is currently a potentially severe security issue affecting a wide range of *nix systems.

VSCode (VSCodium) is for dumb and lazy devs like me. It actually shows shortcut hints instead of a blank screen when you don't have any document opened. Don't try to sway me towards (neo)vim. I'm too scared I won't be able to quit.

EthStaker and a few members from our community has been working hard on revitalizing the original staking-deposit-cli tool into a new fork called ethstaker-deposit-cli. We've got great news coming up in the next few days and weeks. Watch this space. https://github.com/eth-educators/ethstaker-deposit-cli

I'm quite similar. 15% is the norm around here for almost the full range of bad to excellent service. I've given 5% recently to a very bad service and I've given 20%+ twice before to exceptional ones.

Don't ask for the best. Ask for what's good for you.

I guess we are very bad at foreseeing the consequences of any innovation or discovery. The best we can do is adapt.

Constant connectivity: People wished for better communication and instant access to information. While smartphones and social media have provided this, they've also led to issues like digital addiction, decreased attention spans, privacy concerns, and mental health challenges.

The famous genie story where you get your wishes but there are a tone of unintended consequences as a result of those wishes, the "Monkey's Paw" story, is truly a magnificient way of explaining many modern realities. Be careful what you wish for is probably is good daily reminder. Name one recent convenience we got and it's horrific way. I'll start.

Weight lost or gain is mostly a function of what you eat in terms of quantity and quality. Physical exercise is still important for health. Calories in and out is relevant but your body is consuming about the same amount on average everyday no matter what. TIL

How do you frontrun a malicious actor who has access to the private key of your wallet on Ethereum mainnet knowing that funds will be transferred to your wallet ahead of time? Asking for a staker who needs support.

Just like most people *accepted* surveillance capitalism, we'll have most people accept 24/7 AI surveillance. The battlefield will be on the privacy, data storage, who controls access to this data and what happens in the worst case such as a stolen device.

The Windows Recall feature isn't inherently bad. It's potential for being good or bad is simply huge which is concerning. I predict will have some kind of AI tool that will record everything we do sooner rather than later with various degree of *bad* stuff happening along the way.

No, you can run reth as a regular node (they call it full in their documentation). It's why you have to add the `--full` option. See https://reth.rs/run/mainnet.html
