If a channel receives more than 3000 casts per month, @automod now wants channel owners to pay to continue using the tool. Channels like /music are being bombarded by spam, and we have no control over it since the protocol is permissionless. As Farcaster grows, the spam will only increase. The /music channel has 9 mods in total, but FC allows for only 1 mod at the protocol level. This means we have no choice but to use a mod tool to give mod abilities to each mod. What’s the solution here? I understand that @jtgi has costs to cover on his side for @automod, but it feels terrible knowing that we are now monetizing the spam problem and expecting mods to pay to fix an issue they are not responsible for.
