Roman Storm is an open source developer.

On August 23rd 2023 at 6am with his 3-year old daughter asleep in the house, he was awakened by a fully armed SWAT team with rifles out. They cuffed him and took away his daughter.

His crime: publishing open source privacy code.

If found guilty Roman faces the prospect of multiple lifetimes in prison.  

If found guilty is any open source developer safe.  

If found guilty what does this say about our 1st & 4th amendment protections in America.

It's ridiculous, we don't hold gun manufacturers liable for murders committed with their weapons. They make product that can be used for good and bad, they cannot control how it is used.
It goes as far as the PLCAA in 2005, I'm sure the NRA & political pressure ultimately run by money pushed this through. Technology is the future, if we can't protect innovation it will stifle growth
