What does it mean to be human in an increasingly digital age?

Another saying that I have always enjoyed and thought very relevant:

“Wherever you may seek solitude, men will ferret you out and compel you to belong to their desperate company of odd fellows.”

I have always enjoyed the Buddhist principle of "Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water". For me this means that once one achieves heightened realisation, nothing material has to change. The activity remains the same, it is just the perceived struggle that is removed.

The world can be divided into three kinds of people:

A relatively small group that makes things happen.
A somewhat larger group that watches things happen.
A great multitude that never knows what has happened!
