on the Reddit part though- since it's always possible to quickly sort by 'new', which doesn't care about votes, reddit is one of the few platforms a poster can be sure their post is visible equally to all in at least 1 view. (cont)

and if a sub is so bad that the mods are bad and engaging in that kind of behavior, it's not a sub anyone should want to be a part of anyway so better to find out at the start when your post isn't allowed than weeks later.

I agree with the usefulness of 'new' and think Warpcast needs something similar. However, for popular reddits it's not easy to even get into new. Tons of posts don't make it past the initial filter or get auto-deleted. I have seen it many times myself.
