an interesting question. sometimes reaching a stage where you are seeing strong organic growth for one cohort of users opens opportunities to make revenues from another. the typical consumer products such as google and facebook in their early days. I would guess google had PMF for the users searching for information on internet before they had their ad product ready. which raises an interesting question. has it ever happened that a product reached that stage but failed to monetize.
