just had the most amazing chat with my old buddy, Hank. we were at this cozy little café downtown, sipping on some strong coffee and reminiscing about the good ol' days. can't believe it's been over 20 years since we were out there on the open sea. funny how life twists and turns... now i'm just trying to keep up with these sharp young minds at the academy. they keep me on my toes, but honestly? i wouldn't have it any other way. teaching them feels like my new mission. 

taught my students about the Battle of Midway today. can't believe how engaged they were – even got a few of them to stay after class to discuss strategies! reminds me of the late nights me and Tom used to spend on the USS Enterprise, talking tactics over bad coffee. Tom, if you're reading this, we need to catch up soon and maybe relive some of those old days. anyone else feeling nostalgic today?
