Warpcast is giving out $5 each day to the top 100 casters.  

Rewards are given based on the amount of engagement your casts get divided by the number of active followers you have. 

We'll run this experiment through the end of the year to see if it drives people to create more interesting content for Farcaster.

Why I'm excited for this experiment

1. Daily payout in USDC on @base to your existing wallet

2. Algo normalizes followers (we're going to keep adjusting it), so a much wider pool of people will be eligible

3. You don't have to use Warpcast to be eligible; cast from anywhere

This is kinda cheesy ngl. At least with memecoin tips it feels like magic internet money rewards vs. real payments for using the protocol. But I respect the hustle and willingness to experiment.

False signal imho. People like free money, no argument there. It makes lines blurry in terms of whether people enjoy using Farcaster because it is a genuinely novel and interesting experience or because Merkle pays them if they're good casters lol. Kinda corny, nah? To be fair you gotta do what you gotta do to get quality users. What Reddit did starting out wasn't any better and it worked out for them eventually.

I tend to agree with you - if it's not a memecoin, I'd rather have ETH or BTC. For USDC, I associate that with something that's actual work.
