Rather blustery day here on the Southcoast; happy to have a mostly indoor day seeding another round of onions and greens in the greenhouse.

We also started building new doors for our greenhouse, which were due to be replaced this winter.

No sustained warmth on the horizon this month; so a slow start to the growing season is in store for 2025.

Will make spring feel all the better when it eventually arrives; though there’s a good chance our chilly ocean temps keep our coastal locale air conditioned well into spring…

These are our earliest onions of the season; seeded February 7th and now growing a couple of weeks.  We’ll give them a feed the first week of March to boost their vigor.  Slated for field transplanting sometime early April.

Third round of onions will be seeded tomorrow; and then a final planting for 2025 next week.

Today we topped 40 degrees for the first time in a while; spring bird song starting to slowly pick up.  Longer days are on the horizon, and rhythms start to hum just a bit on the farm.
