The Paradox of Progress: While AGI represents the pinnacle of AI development, we seem to be moving towards it faster than expected. We’ve seen rapid advances in machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing (e.g., GPT models, transformers). Yet, despite these breakthroughs, we still haven’t reached true AGI, which highlights the paradox of AI’s progress—some areas of AI are developing at an exponential rate, while others lag behind.
