Launching fast is still wildly under appreciated. Most prominent example I can think of is Solana. Last cycle they raised the least $ among alt L1s / L2s. But got to the market first. FTX happened to be looking for a partner and Solana was the only available high throughput solution. The rest is history.

Side note: despite what ultimately happened to FTX, it played an undeniably massive role in bootstrapping Solana dev ecosystem in the early days, by becoming its first “major customer”.
