i been kicking around crypto astrology ideas for a while... every block has a timestamp, so block + location = chart. u could mint an NFT of a chart every block and ppl would prob pay to own the cool/special ones

this was rly good. curious though that what i consider the ethical dimension of crypto (freedom of information) was lost in his research. mb the libertarian crowd didn't express it well. but it's the kind of thing the French do love (guys like Lyotard at least)

i may know the same 10 people on bsky as on farcaster, but using the app will have a different "feel" because of how the app as an element of the symbolic contributes to the way we relate to each other. this position is determined by marketing + business, initial users, networks, etc https://warpcast.com/snav/0x0ba3db

indeed -- fractional identities determined by the various positions we inhabit within the symbolic network, insofar as the identity refers to a particular relationship to speech rather than some sort of existential quality (e.g. a dad "is" a dad all the time, but he is so symbolically when talking to his children)

sometimes i want tech professional. sometimes i don't. if i do, i can go on farcaster. if i don't, i can go on twitter or bluesky (or someplace else). so really not a question of preferences, which are inherently unstable over time.

i find myself much more drawn to ATProto in terms of how the crypto elements are cleverly + almost entirely hidden + the protocol admits so much extensibility.... but we all really need to figure out a better path forward with DIDs

just reviewed the farcaster spec, straightforward way to "just do the thing" (twitter clone on eth + CRDT hubs). don't love the auctioned namespace system tbqh, and the mobile app acting as wallet is a bit odd to me but i get it
