China's GDP is substantially underestimated, it's real GDP per capita is something around 35-40,000 dollars. Then, the coastal provinces where half of the population lives, are richer than average. There GDP per capita should be around 45-50,000 dollars, or nearly two thirds of American levels. Argentina's GDP per capita appears a bit overestimated vis countries like China, Chile and Brazil, it's officially only 10% lower than Chile's but the gap in living standards is very large as is evident in terms of life expectacy and car sales per capita. Finally, Turkey's latest benchmark GDP estimates led to a substantial downward revision.

What is our current strategy? Grow the number of daily active users on the social network 1. Differentiation 2. Growth mechanics 3. Infra for more users 4. Content *** 1. Lean into what makes Farcaster different: that’s onchain UX through frames and wallet 2. Grow users: continue to iterate on invites and incentives like rewards (which are paid out onchain, helping #1) 3. Scale the protocol: make the protocol work for other apps that want to integrate, e.g. Base. There’s a bunch of work to do here, including Snapchain, Sign in with Farcaster, cheaper sign ups 4. Increase supply of content: understand pain points from people who produce content full-time / part-time and see if there’s a scalable way Farcaster can solve this.

Damn!!! Thanks to China, Musk’s Grok3 AI model just became World’s #1 AI! Why China?! Musk just announced in his livestream they used the same innovation China used in DeepSeek with a reinforcement learning model. That’s what open source does, it helps everyone! Ironically China don’t care about beating everyone, their model has literally helped US AI become so good, yet no US AI open source theirs to help improve the whole AI community. A big day, but a sad one, all about profit for US AI companies..
