Do me a favor and if you see somebody else has asked the question to check it out first. I understand when it comes to long threads it can be a little bit intense. I am extremely excited to take this time and be able to chat with y'all. My crazy knowledge is from all over the place so thank you so much. The "first" medium that I can as a child or "adult" TBH it'd been so long. I'm curious what my first actual piece was. As a child I painted on premade clay pieced, finger painted to create artwork and of course my crowning achievement that got recognized in about first grade was a felt clown with a flower that shot water it was all 2D cutouts yet the teacher was so impressed it was put up for a class exhibit. As I grew my parents found outside classes so I could learn to paint and use acrylics. We had images as references and I still love the feeling of cleaning brushes its a dirty job yet the paint is so squishy. When I got to high school all I wanted to do was take photographs and was so lucky to be in the age of the darkroom era.
