I think that there will be a flight to sanity (Base) pretty soon. Somehow Base feels a order of magnitude less scamy although its fees etc. are on the same level as Solana.

Based on my calculations, the net present value per $veAERO token should be around $3.00. This indicates that there is currently a price difference of approximately 150% that could be unlocked in the future. The large difference in price illustrates that the amplitude of Mr. Market’s moods is particularly extreme in crypto. For the long-term investor who is not bothered by daily and sometimes significant price swings, substantial outperformance could be achieved if the discount between the current trading price and the net present value is large enough. Of course, this is based on the hypothesis that, over the long run, the net present value and the actual trading price will converge toward some form of parity. Most DeFi projects are valued based on hype, TVL, or token price trends. But real cash flow protocols like Aerodrome can be analyzed like traditional businesses using discounted cash flow (DCF) models. Those shady memecoins launches will probably continue to happen because Trump legitimized the launch of a memecoin. Retail will always FOMO in, thinking it could be the ‘real deal,’ which will keep the spiral going.

This memecoin madness really wants me to right a blog post about how to value tokens with fundamentals such as Aerdrome, Uniswap etc. Tokens that get a share of the revenue could actually be valued with traditional financial models. Maybe that would shift the Fokus a little bit.

That's why I don't invest in memecoins that are purely based on momentum or hype. Once the momentum is gone, it's impossible to get it back. With dedicated teams/people like @apex777.eth or @0xdeployer , you can trust that they are building value and can be measured and compounded over a longer period of time.

PayPal $PYPL reported earnings this morning EPS of $1.19 beating expectations of $1.14 Revenue of $8.37B beating expectations of $8.3B PayPal announced a new $15 Billion share buyback plan And yet the stock „sinks“ like a stone. Mr market is weird sometimes.

The only thing that can stop these wild swings in the crypto space is if more applications like @aerodrome do buybacks and redistribute profits. Then traditional money managers will be able to adapt their DCF models and apply them to crypto. This will make them comfortable enough to hold longterm, because they see the underlying metrics of the business improve.
