i did it. i went to the gym today. 🥲 context: the last time i entered the gym was in october 2023 for a 30 min walk at my home gym in india so idk if it really counts?? but before that day the last time i went was in 2015. i’ve had a very difficult relationship with my body since i was a teen and more so with getting myself to go to the gym *alone*. executive dysfunction. task paralysis. social anxiety. insecurities. beaut cocktail. when i started working out in 2013 i always went with my best friend and it was easy w him being around. we both were in the best shape of our lives. in 2016 life happened and i stopped going. in 2017, i hired a personal trainer who’d come home to help me workout. i got injured at work and my elbow + right arm have never been the same since. i took a break from working out bc of the injury. today, 8 years later, i had to call my friend bc the moment i stepped on the treadmill i started freaking out. she had to talk me thru it like a 5y/o until i was ok.
