[Prop 685 update] Things are moving fast now! We start screening kids next Monday — visiting 2 NGOs per day for 6 days, totaling 12 NGOs and ~2,000 kids. Meanwhile, the van for medical exams is still being refurbished, and the mould for the recycled glasses is under development — expected to be ready by May. Here’s the team uniform we’ll be rocking over the next few months:

This week, we had a very important meeting to improve the BR Noggles production. On Monday, we’ll be shipping the injection moulding machine and the Noggles mould from Vitória to São Paulo to adjust the mould’s entry point and repair the injection table lock. Shipping will cost $90, but the repair costs are still to be determined.

Part 1 - Why does 1 Precious Noggles cost $100? $30 - Labor by Micro Recyclers around the world. Making recycled plastic Noggles requires dedication: - Sorting the plastic—choosing high-quality plastic is crucial for making recycled eyewear. - Cleaning the plastic—dirt can cause defects if not thoroughly cleaned. - Picking colors—some don’t bond well together, requiring testing. - Injecting plastic into the mold—incorrect pressure or temperature can cause failure. - Assembling lenses and temples—improper assembly can crack the Noggles. Every Precious Noggle is crafted with great attention to detail. Our production hubs: - Precious Plastic NYC (Bronx, USA) - Mad Plastic (Ericeira, Portugal) - Precious Plastic ES (Vitória, Brazil) Each location has its own operations and challenges. Right now, the production in Brazil needs better machinery to maintain Noggles production, so we’re dedicating Flows income to addressing these issues.

Making recycled plastic Noggles is not as easy as it looks. If the plastic isn’t properly cleaned, if it’s in poor condition, if the machine’s pressure isn’t high enough, if the temperature fluctuates, if the nozzle shape isn’t precise, or if the mold isn’t perfectly crafted, we end up with a lot of defects like this. Even a tiny crack can ruin an entire Noggle. Sometimes, it takes many failed attempts before we get a perfect one. As we progress, we constantly need to refine our machinery and tools to improve the process. With Flows we are gonna be able to make a new nozzle for the BR production inspired by the NYC production used during @nounstown.eth .
