I hated it but this is why my dad always pushed me to get a practical degree. I did and then when I was financially stable, I went back and got a master’s in creative writing that I knew would never pay itself back financially. https://reason.com/2024/05/10/nearly-half-of-all-masters-degrees-arent-worth-getting/

Got an MFA can't say it opened any doors, however it was still life changing for me.

Totally agree. I’m so happy I got my MFA but I’m also happy I waited until I knew I could afford the debt that came with it.

Definitely smarter than what I did. I got lucky to have a scholarship though coming from France I wouldn't have been able to otherwise.. but filmmaking is a whole other can of worms.
