Blogs have always been very bad at feedback loops. Even with a comments section. This has been what has entrenched social media so deeply in society. Feedback. 

Even Substack does a poor job of creating the types of feedback loops people can get on social networks.

long-form has a way of filtering out those who hold an opinion casually and don’t have too much invested in it to be clouded by biases (aka most people).

it only becomes a problem when you don’t have somebody who is passionate and well-informed to counterbalance the passionate, but misinformed
