Breaking news: France is at its 5th iteration of "starting over". Its not all that bad to re-actualize your constitution you know... Its equally unreasonable to think a political document from any given time is gonna be the blueprint for political interactions until the end of days 🤷‍♂️

Well the Constitution did fail to prevent the tyranny we are now experiencing, I mean it sounds great but the government doesn't adhere to it and hasn't for a long long time. I wouldn't say it's to blame though. I don't know how a new one would do any better because pieces of paper can't change the basics. Power corrupts and governments always want more power. In the words of Lysander Spooner "But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist."

Once again, it proves that there are no real journalists left in the MSM. Only linguistically adequate dilettante midwits who imagine themselves being intellectual.

Instead of tossing out the constitution right off the bat, we should at least come up with a new constitution first that actually works. Or at least revise the current constitution and agree upon a version that works first. I'm not of the opinion that our current constitution will forever stand the test of time, especially as our technology accelerates and drastically changes the way we communicate and coordinate. Still, if we are to formulate a new constitution, we need to be very careful as to how we alter the principles that our society is built on. Burning it all to the ground would not be wise.

what could possibly go wrong when trying to combat ultra-partisanism with live-editing the only 'neutral' document. surely both sides will seek mutual ground.
