Meet Niceaunties @niceaunties, an artist and designer based in Singapore whose work is deeply inspired by the influential women in her family and the unique "auntie culture" prevalent in Asian communities. 

Niceaunties uses AI as her primary media to explore areas such as aging, beauty, individual autonomy, and the nuances of everyday life. Growing up in a disciplined Chinese household and attending a strict girls' school shaped Niceaunties' understanding of structure and societal norms. These formative years instilled a deep sense of order, which carried through to her 20-year career in architecture. In a society where success is often defined by adherence to predetermined paths, her life mirrored these ideals—until she sought an outlet to explore the creative freedom her upbringing constrained.

The concept of "Niceaunties" emerged as a response to these restrictions. Through AI, she has created a surreal and liberating world where suppressed identities can exist freely and without judgment. The project embodies the collective subconscious of "aunties," celebrating self-love, individuality, and risk-taking. Her work critiques the societal norms imposed on women, offering a playful yet profound rebellion against these constraints through vibrant self-expression.

Influenced by surrealism, fantasy, and kawaii culture, Niceaunties’ art champions empowerment and celebrates the joy of unfiltered individuality. Her project gained international recognition, with her 2024 TED Talk in Vancouver presenting its themes of personal liberation and cultural commentary to a global audience. 

The project has also been featured in prestigious exhibitions, including Art Basel's Digital Art Mile, PhotoVogue Milan, Expanded Art Gallery Berlin, and the V&A Digital Art Weekend in London.

Her public art commission, *Aunties on Sunset*, graced a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood from June to September 2024, embodying her ethos of bringing art into everyday spaces. Niceaunties is represented by the gallery Fellowship, with her work showcased in its daily.xyz project and numerous international exhibitions. Additionally, she contributed to Christie's 'Creating Connections' charity auction and presented her collection *Along the River in Auntieverse* at Christie's 2024 Art + Tech conference in New York City.

Niceaunties' work has been celebrated globally, with features in *The Straits Times*, *Forbes*, and *The Guardian*. Her art is not only a celebration of self-expression but also a bold reimagining of the narratives surrounding women’s roles, offering a vibrant, joyful lens on a culture that often goes unnoticed yet resonates universally.
