which mac should i buy? - i mostly do web dev for work - on my computer all day every day. no tolerance for lag, ram limits, etc - not compiling anything, editing video, etc - i have a ton of chrome tabs open - want at least 1tb disk space - willing to pay extra for futureproofing mba, mbp, mini? m3 or m4?

Hey @grin - I'm doing a HW update write at the minute too, I'll give you my configuration and decision making thoughts, in case it's at all useful to your context: Currently on Macbook Air M1, 8GB RAM - which was doing amazingly well as a dev machine on just 8GB, because of the all the new "unified memory" on Apple silicon making that perform much better than what 8GB used to mean. Plan: I'm jumping to the 14" MBP, M4 Pro, 24GB-memory, 512GB-ssd. Rationale: Was intending to jump to the Macbook Air (15") but given this is within a few hundred dollars of the air, and is the new chipset (the Air's aren't refreshed until next year I think) - seems to make sense. A little more roomy screen that the 13", but still very portable for when travelling. Will be more weighty though, but I'm mostly not travelling - and just running a 48" screen off the MBA at the main work desk.
