I think a lot of that has to do with conceptions around ownership wrt βideaβ. When I used to make music with a friend of mine we often got hung up on whose idea a melody or chord progression was. It was getting in the way of creating so we reframed it as βthe idea that came through meβ.

Man, the "it's doing it through me" reframing is so profoundly right. That's totally beautiful! You say that in the context of working with someone else, and freeing up the "ownership" block - but even in solo acts of creation, I think this "getting out of your own way" type mental move is super helpful.
