Here is my perspective (and my first long cast) Even if you’re new to New York City, you feel right at home. It’s really easy to meet people, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. If you like green spaces, there are quite a few in the city, including Central Park, Prospect Park, and McCarran Park. There’s an abundance of nature, especially around cultural landmarks like the MET and the Brooklyn Museum. Since moving from the Bay Area three years ago, I’ve had a smile on my face every single day. I loved living in the Bay Area, but it’s easier to call New York home because the people here make it so special

As much as I enjoyed San Francisco as a software engineer and having cab drivers who knew about Kafka and Redis, moving to New York has made me more creative. The diversity here has been crucial for me, expanding my understanding of how people can live in different ways through various professions. Of course, not everything is perfect. Cycling in New York really sucks. The roads are narrow, the traffic is intense, and as a cyclist, you often feel disrespected. This is something I really miss from San Francisco, where cyclists are much more respected and the biking culture is far better.

this is such a wonderful review and personal perspective, Daniel. greatly appreciate you taking the time to share these details with us. i'm glad NYC has brought more fulfilment & joy into your life. i wish for this to only increase with the people you meet, experiences you surround yourself with, and the work you're putting out into the world.
