The end of your post sounds like the idea Gene Kogan has been working on for ages. Was he at Glitch this year?

Very much enjoyed reading your article; I’m also wondering what art movements are arising (Glitch and Generative are most prominent to me now, although not new at all). The ‘extitution’ you were part of, sounds amazing! And I think the term accurately describes ‘Art in Web3’.

memes selection is elite! for good or bad nfts democratized art raising new artists and «collectors» influenced by very specific crypto culture. If there’s no goal but just a process, it’s fascinating to observe how “digital art” is developing in parallel with trad art and where the paths will cross
