it's a kind of ephemeral, dynamic UTXO? or it's as if the EOA were temporarily transformed into a smart contract for a specific transaction, then returned to its previous state once the transaction was completed?

An EOA can pretend to be a smart contract for the duration of a single transaction. This lets you do smart contract things, while still keeping your existing wallet, today (or as soon as it's included).
