Instead of toilet seat covers, most places in Japan have alcohol spray, gel, foam, or wipes to clean bathroom toilet seats. And bidets. This should be standard everywhere. Why is everyone else so behind on toilet tech?

As awareness of the benefits of advanced toilet tech grows such as improved hygiene, environmental sustainability, and overall comfort it's possible that more countries will begin to catch up.

I hope so! During the toilet paper crisis I was set because I have a Toto Washlet and I have given them to family for Christmas and they were very happy to have them! I wish everyone get a bidet ;)
