Lately, I've heard ppl saying that a lot of high-quality users are joining Farcaster. So I decided to check the data, and here's what I found:

- Since Aug 01, FC has gained 20k new users
- 9k casted at least once
- 5k casted 1-10 times 
- 550 casted 100+ times
- 160 casted more than 370 times
 
The data (which I got via @neynar) shows that over 50% of the new users have never made a cast. For context, the average OG user, such as @phil, makes about 369 casts per month (root + replies).

Can you see this broken down by Root Vs Replies? I’m seeing a lot of new accounts with 0 root casts but a ton of replies. Is is possible to even do that or do they all look the same on the protocol level?

Thank you! I usually judge accounts by the timelines but seeing a lot of blank timelines. But then I go to replies and wow. Lots of replies. Usually spamming scummy frames. Instant mute. But I’m noticing it more. They aren’t even trying to look legit anymore.

All these numbers include both root and reply casts. But if you prefer, you can look at either one exclusively

Ahhh! Parent casts. Adding that to my vocabulary. I’d love to see this breakdown too. I think it would be a cool frame honestly.

Replies have a parent cast on the protocol, so would certainly be possible
