I have several SV friends who peaced out to go farm/ranch/spend time with their families. It makes me uncomfortable.

I haven’t gotten to sit down with then and look them in the eye and have a real conversation but I don’t like that I know multiple people who are stepping away. I’m excited and they seem terrified. Hence why I’m uncomfortable. 

Do they think they can’t compete? Do they see their jobs actually going away? Do they feel too old and out of the game? I don’t know what they are thinking at all but they aren’t the type to just throw in the towel. That’s my concern. I thought they’d lean in and dominate this next phase of their career.

AI is one of the biggest opportunities financially, socially, and in terms of human evolution.

Think if all dumb Gorillas killed all the smarter Gorillas. Will it stop the evolution process?
