So happy to be paneling a session @devcon on Ethereum's Values and Ethos with @karalabe.eth @g11tech @marekm25 @nixo ! Lots to reflect on, discuss and debate about what Ethereum meant, what it is now and what it will be for us in the future! 🚀

I don’t cast a lot. And part of it is because I don’t get the same type of engagement yet here than I do with tweets on Twitter. Is anyone even seeing this?

We had a contributor get flagged for spam through some algorithm… and we pretty much for a period of time was at the mercy of Github to reinstate his account so we could get all the collaboration notes we had on his PRs so we could continue reviewing his work. Microsoft made him and all of his work history disappear overnight.

The bigger problem is actually the history and the context provided. All of the comments made on PRs, issues, etc. It’s the biggest source of collaborative information that isn’t captured in git itself. Just because… we all collaborate on Github still

Thank goodness for open finance where an internet connection allows you to purchase and hold the value of your hard earned money in a more stabler currency! We just need to make it more safe for all to do so and abolish the black market for USD cash

Not sure how much more proof one needs to start running Lodestar on their setups. Small solo setups or large node operators alike. @chainsafe node ops runs 100% Lodestar to demonstrate its capabilities. Now part of the Top 25% of operators for @lidofinance in the last 30d!

How to bootstrap crypto as a consumer-friendly payment method When I joined Coinbase in 2014, my first job was trying to get merchants to accept Bitcoin payments. (I worked with @nick on this.) Bitcoin as a consumer payment method didn't work out for a few reasons: 1. Clunky UX — after scanning a QR code, you had to send the exact amount of Bitcoin from your wallet; prices could also fluctuate during the checkout flow 2. Small user base — population of people with a bitcoin wallet was probably closer to 10M in 2014. 3. Lack of incentives — no incentive for consumers to overcome the clunky UX. Further, credit and even some debit cards offered cash back and points. *** Fast forward 10 years, consumer adoption of crypto payments is still low. However, we have the possibility of significantly improved UX thanks to faster, cheaper and smarter blockchains, stablecoins, and at least 100M consumers with a fiat-connected crypto account. What remains is the lack of incentives. 1/

Last week, Ethereum L1 client, research, testing and devops teams gathered for Nyota ✨, a week long interop event focused on Pectra, PeerDAS and Verkle. We also hosted a first of its kind community event for African builders. Here's a full recap 😄! https://blog.ethereum.org/2024/05/22/nyota-interop-recap

FYI solo stakers - maxEB spec is being decided rn and they're looking for people to speak up on custom ceilings A custom ceiling allows you to set whatever # you want to compound up to for your validator (e.g. 37) imo not including this would remove a lot of the benefits for solo stakers. Please voice your thoughts!
