My gosh... Seeing real people has been amazing. Like all my time has been talking here to people behind an avatar or PFP. So putting faces to avatars is just AMAZING.

I love getting to know people first as their avatar, and truly letting their words speak without letting bias creep in. And then unveiling and seeing the actual human behind the souls we get to know. It really is a unique experience isn’t it?

I so agree! It's a fascinating thing to experience, and watch and learn from, for me. The different dimensions of the "you" that come through when different filters are put up (non-face avatar, no video camera on, etc). 🧠←→🧠 And also how diff my spontaneous projections are onto avatars, filling in blanks

That's from "Understanding Comics" (McCloud, 1993), one of the few scholarly breakdowns of "comics" as a medium of communication, distinct from film AND novels | so what they can uniquely achieve that each of the "visual" and "literary" forms fall short on. https://warpcast.com/philcockfield.eth/0xe66fac
