One of the most powerful tricks for managing a Very Online presence is judicious use of the block button. I have a liberal one strike policy. If you are attacking someone else or clearly posting spam, you get blocked. Life is too short to expose yourself to the endless personal problems of people on the internet.

The next round of the Bright Moments Leaderboard ends tonight at midnight. As a reminder, anyone with points on the board will automatically be entered into the raffle to win a Golden Token. More points == higher chance of winning. Last round, the winner was someone with only 15 points! It could be you!

One of the most important skills I learned from my engineering education was number sense. It’s an intuition about what answers are reasonable. Not enough for precise work, but a useful barometer for gauging if you’re on the right track. These back-of-the-napkin style problems turn out to be very useful in life.

It's pretty incredible how much Apple hamstrings developers. For example, Coinbase Wallet, a flagship mobile app from a $B public company, can't implement basic NFT transfers in their app because it violates their draconian app store policy around digital assets. Thank god we have the open web.

Tonight, the Bright Moments community will once again materialize in the physical world. This has now happened on four continents (!) Tonight is special because it's our 10th city, and the completion of a goal that we set for ourselves three years ago, when the world was a very different place.

We screened the premiere of a documentary about /bright-moments today at the Auditorium Santa Margherita in Venenzia. Edited by @tonygasch, three years in the making. It was a surreal feeling.

There is something deeply unnatural about the fact that you can’t use a phone with your eyes closed. It relies 100% on sight, shunting the rest of your senses into the background for the majority of the day.

ending today with a deep sense of gratitude to the many artists who contributed code to our Finale project. it was an ambitious undertaking: 60 artists on a single generative project (!) we weren't even sure if it was possible. and now it's on mainnet. what a time!

One of the most underrated speeches in American history. I remember reading it often while working a corporate job, thinking that the words perfectly described how I felt almost two hundred years after they were written.
