Do you live outside of a major city? (~1M ppl) If so, how is it? Do you ever consider moving? What do you think us city folk are missing?

Yes Bad, I hate it here Yes I actively am planning to move out, I hate it here I guess if you’ve lived in a large city for a while, the peace and quiet can be soothing. However I think the opposite is also true in that I’ve lived in a town w/ nothing to do for 17 years and now I want out.

Escaped the city three years ago, never regretted it, never miss it. Stress levels went from 11 to 1. City dwellers miss out on so many things, fresh air, peace, community, simplicity...

Yes, grew up an ~hour north of manhattan and it’s still home base for now when I’m not traveling Used to hate it, now I really enjoy the area Planning to move to NYC in a few months Calmness, nature, driving on nice quiet roads, more space

Fresh air, freedom from most city pollutions, including the most overlooked pollution: noise.

I've lived in three towns so far this year. I love waking up in nature, going for walks/hikes, drawing on my ipad without all the noise of a big city. Socializing is something you miss more in a smaller place, so I need to get back to a big city once in a while.

my parents still live upstate NY (Binghamton) where I grew up and I’m now right outside of NYC — too much of one feels like an imbalance both have their own communities and own vibe and both can learn from each other but tend to create friction instead

Zurich is small, but probably considered a major city and it has all the amenities of country life. I live 20 mins from downtown & airport by PT, have a mountain view and woods start a few hundred meters from my door. Neighbors raise chicken, rabbits & sheep and there is a dairy farm nearby. It’s a pretty good life

I lived 3 yrs in a himalayan moutain town of 150K people. Loved: 1. long walks in nature 2. cohesive community(people rely on each other) But also missed the variety & bustle of metropolis and options to socialize with new people

I live in 500k city, it’s cool when you can reach anything in 30 minutes. Also, no need to move far away to reach nature beauty, forests and lakes.
