Has anyone seen a Boston Dynamics robot in-person? If so, in what context? What was the experience like?

Yes, we worked on them. Walked around the office a lot. Many things are uncanny about it, but something I’ll never forget was realizing how fucking strong they are. You immediately get the sense they would rip you apart if appropriately programmed. But also cute

im not sure if it was a boston dynamics, but i saw one at venice beach during farcon. he/she/it entered a grocery store following his/her/its owner. couldnt take a pic, it was a strange experience.

Yes at a civil engineering exhibition. These things can carry total stations (that fire lasers to targets). First time I thought it was great, but the more i saw it, I realised it's just a gimmick (in my industry) and just a marketing tool more than anything. The robot seems to walk and balance well, gets attention

There was one at Eth DC. A defense contractor had brought it to train an ai model either in or on it to train a language and observation ai model. He could apparently go home and ask it to remind him of the name of that guy he talked to from the Base team and get a summary of the important points in our discussion.
