I’ve lived in LA for the last 7 years. My lease is up soon and I’m considering trying somewhere new. I value natural beauty, access to international flights, and a strong sense of local identity. Shill me on where you think I should move (and why!) — anywhere is fair game.

Tokyo is a great place to live, the quality of life here is great. Super safe, clean, great food too. Is different from LA but is worth trying even for 3 months :)

Really love Tokyo. Worried about culture shock. The Japanese have such a particular social hierarchy I am worried I would never quite integrate.

Ser I live here for 7 years now and I will tell I can never fully integrate and that’s okay. I always keep an open mind and not comparing things with my country, helped me navigate better. Plus the challenges here are good as you get to know more about yourself!

Depends on your definition of integration. It's quite easy to make friends (dating apps are a fantastic tool for that). The hierarchy is more a company thing, so you should be Ok. I've been a Tokyoite for 10 years or so, and I enjoy not being fully integrated, it gives me a unique angle to see things.
