The galaxies NGC 4038 and NGC 4039, known as Antenna Galaxies, have been attracted to each other for about a billion years. As a result of their interaction, stars rarely collide, but new stars are formed from the collision of interstellar gases. Some of them have already appeared in the “antennas” extending along the sides. The complete merger of galaxies will be completed in a billion years and will lead to the formation of billions of new stars.
