I see your point. In an account of someone's ~30 minute demo of Vision Pro, I read that Apple employees are shying away from using the term avatars in favor of personas so Apple might leave multiplayer "bodies" and many interactions to third-party developers such as VRChat

Don't live in South Florida but have enjoyed visiting. I enjoyed Frenchie's Cafe when I ate there in 2014 https://goo.gl/maps/wdjroW7ojLuLRRDQ8 Would also recommend Everglades National Park

Yeah, turn off Optic ID, or one will be able to set a longer unlock time so it won't lock while passing to a friend

I’m going to create a thread of interesting talks from this week’s WWDC, with tiny comments. Andrew was my closest collaborator when I was doing engineering on this project, and we had a particular fondness for space-based examples. https://developer.apple.com/wwdc23/10109

2/2 If you're new, try replying to existing conversations vs. only casting "into the void". People on FC are quite welcoming and interested in engaging with and following thoughtful, kind people (even if they don't know them).

during the Voices of VR podcast episode about Vision Pro, according to a conversation with an Apple engineer, the device will not support kiosk or multi-user mode I wonder how you would share the device with a friend if Optic ID works similar to Face ID and is required to unlock it cc @df https://is.gd/lRTJpB 13:10

Yeah, they really are. Reading about the techniques that they’re using to make it a magical experience is pretty cool. Two neat posts: https://twitter.com/sterlingcrispin/status/1665792422914453506 https://twitter.com/sterlingcrispin/status/1666128456269299713

has anyone seen reporting that indicates if Vision Pro will support multiple users / Apple IDs? It's somewhat understandable that Apple intends iPhones to be used by a single user, but for a $3,500 product, I'm curious if Apple will support multiple users

Yeah, it’s very intertwined. Taiwan has only been autonomous since the mid 20th century. Before that it was subject to Japan for ~50 years and before that the Qing dynasty

Considering how integrated Taiwan is with the global technology industry, it’s hard to imagine such a scenario https://asia.nikkei.com/static/vdata/infographics/taiwan-economy/
