And… who is building that verification?

The beauty of Farcaster is that anyone can integrate this feature in a client.
The decentralised social graph and messages is awesome for transparency and bot fighting.
A client could even add a proof of humanity badge using an existing protocol. If your linked address has a proof of humanity, then you are not a bot.

What proof of humanity protocols are out there?

I know Anima / Synapse https://anima.io/
I have tried it and planned to use it in a previous project. Team seems serious and backed by trustworthy people.
Not sure how the progress of AI put their solution at stake though.
