As boring of an answer as it is, for most people there's very little point keeping a store of value on ETH/BTC when stablecoins exist. If you are uncertain enough about your local economy to try out decentralized alternatives, a USD denomination is safe enough. Expect to see less VC alt L1s and more stablecoins like PYUSD as more and more people notice this.

Long story short, .io is meant to represent a country, in the same way that .it is supposed to be italy even if people use it for something else. The region that represented .io is now not going to be a thing anymore. The article suggests that they'll unwind all TLDs, but chances are a special agreement will be made to keep it around.

I feel they decided to close the channels way too early. Luckily, the vibes here are still comfier than alternatives so I'm happy to stay, but I can see these choices really harming growth and user acquisition as it forces every new user to be a reply guy

Most of the times when a protocol does good decisions it's not picked up outside the community, only errors get momentum and a spotlight. The selling error was clearly influenced by compliance fears, but what other bad decisions are you talking about? The transferability?

Personally, the open membership system led to a lot of noise. Would be nice to experiment with pay to cast for new members but whitelist for defi builders (to still make /defi the hub for key announcements)

Also worth going to the channels of major conferences and browsing the recorded talks, it's crazy how many insightful topics only get dozens of views during the talk, but hundreds of thousands when it's announced a year later.

Many DAO delegations are already university clubs, I feel the problem is that most late Gen Z'ers don't even remember an internet with privacy and self-ownership, so it's hard to convince them to try it

I think @pooltogether did a similar implementation in the past, except due to the way it works rather than APY you get drawn into a join pool. It's common in some parts of the world, so could be interesting for people scared of risk in defi!

Analogue photography has sadly gotten very expensive recently, and I feel it would be hard to convince even hobby clubs to supply film rolls, negatives, etc :/ However, I feel a great alternative would be to normalise point-and-shoot cameras again. It helps ignite the passion, learn about aperture/focus, and everyone has an old one in a drawer somewhere 📸

I think you need to be a certain degree of terminally online to even begin spotting the trends of bots and get actively annoyed by them. If your only purpose online is to scroll reels and like pictures you care a lot less about who's real and who isn't. See all the thriving content farms before AI
