I'm pretty curious as to how the expansion of different execution layers (MoveVM, SVM, zkWasm, FuelVM) is going to affect the current fragmentation issue. While I'm bullish on the design space of next-gen VMs, wallet UX and interoperability could be difficult to solve.

I don't think the execution layer is directly related to fragmentation. If you look back as to why so many L1's and L2's exist, it's 99% because of the lack of scalability of the existing L1 incumbents. Solve scaling the base layer and why do we need some many alt L1's and L2's??? If the underlying network is linearly scalable from a consensus, execution, state perspective, it doesn't really matter what VM is being used. Although the VM has to be able to work with the other layers of the stack to scale linearly too.
