The global Crowdstrike/Azure outage unfolding today shines a different light on the vulnerabilities of centralized global systems. The more that depends on these systems, the more vulnerable we are collectively as well as individually. 

We need a new internet that is resilient to human error as well as malicious attacks.

Interestingly, unlike most big tech outages, this one isn’t a malicious hack and it’s not compromising individual data/privacy. It was a security update gone wrong: an instance of human error with far reaching consequences for the Azure cloud and several major industries.
