We looked at our favorite entertainment IPs outside of crypto. Many of them are what we’d describe as ‘Universe IP’, which has two key components:
1. Distinct, known characters: The main characters have unique identities, names, appearances, and backgrounds. These traits help shape the story and events.
2. Shared lore: the IP contains lore that helps create rich world-building that feels lived-in, and can enhance storytelling by offering explanations for events and conflicts. Think 'the force'.
For our project coming to @base, we created a foundational set of distinct characters and shared lore, and are distributing the rights to use this IP to ONYX token holders.
We think this approach can lead to more creativity, as contributions from holders lead to new storylines and character developments, enriching the ONYX lore. This model may also improve distribution, allowing the ONYX to expand across different media and platforms, reaching new audiences and markets more efficiently than a centralized IP. 0 reply
