I struggle to keep up with group chats — multiple channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, FC DCs, text etc) Sometimes I open a chat and there are 100+ messages unread One of the least attractive things I could be offered is another private or token gated group chat Its literally the last thing I would ever want

This is all in your hands -- you can get out of the chats that don't bring constant value. Whenever there is dilution of conversation with random stupid comments/opinions without any real thought, time to say sayonara. It is how I deal with various groups.

I wholly agree with one caveat One does not just sayonara an 2nd cousins in India family Whatsapp group - one will pay the price
