I used to work as a preschool teacher and nanny, I wanted to do it as a career because it's so important and I'm good at it, but I could find any way to make it work. They are paid so low, and it's impossible to get adequate funding to build something. Daycares here are usually either run down old homes someone already owns and they're not well equipped, or high overhead buildings like at colleges, decent setups but low pay and no extra resources for enrichment. I always wished I could start a property that had a beautifully built daycare center, a small permaculture farm with some animals, a home for people with disabilities and a small senior center. People need community and nature not all these silo'd services separating everyone. But it's impossible, there's no money for things like that.
